Happy. Hour?

Menu Zine Design

Issue 01 of an ongoing monthly zine experiment.

Happy? Hour.
began as a tongue-in-cheek take on the ritual of “happy hour” — that socially sanctioned time slot when everyone’s supposed to relax, unwind, and be, well, happy. It’s part menu, part manifesto, and part inside joke between me and the artists I spend time with. The humor lies in how seriously it doesn’t take itself; it’s playful, a bit self-aware, and built from spontaneous exchanges, and conversations that make up my creative community.

The zine is printed on transparency film, natural eggshell paper and saddle-stitched with ivory thread. The typography, Beth Ellen and Pangram Pangram Sans Semibold, was chosen for its contrast: handwritten informality meets editorial clarity. Visually, draws inspiration from Mediterranean restaurant menus, mimicking their casual elegance and saturation.
