What Little Me Wishes She Had Seen, 2024

Editorial / Documentary Portrait Series

This portrait series reimagines what visibility might have looked like for my younger self. Blending documentary sensitivity with editorial form, the work reflects on cultural absence, representation, and the quiet power of seeing oneself reflected in the world. Inspired by a candid photograph of my mother standing before the Taj Mahal in the 1980s, the series revisits that image as both a point of origin and an imagined mirror. Through photographing women whose presence echoes that of my mother and myself, the work becomes both a reconstruction of personal history and an act of reclaiming space within visual culture.
