What Years of Dreaming Looks Like

A Short Film

What years of dreaming looks like reflects how experiences of rejection became the foundation for my artistic practice. Subtitles, drawn from advice I received over the years, appear as a narrative thread, highlighting the inner conflicts and affirmations I have as an artist. The audio combines diegetic sounds recorded in my NYC apartment with Mendelssohn’s Songs Without Words, creating an intimate soundscape. Inspired by Gawx, the cinematography employs careful match-cutting, split-screen compositions, and deliberate color grading to translate a single-room setup into a tableau.Â
